Steve Franks, Group Managing Director Water Babies Bubble Ltd
Steve has a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies and went on to study for an MBA at Staffordshire University. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for the Management Sport and Physical Activity.
He has been involved in the UK sport and leisure industry sector in a senior management capacity for over 25 years (public and private industry sectors), which included time working in the Middle East and the Caribbean for quasi-government organisations. Steve has been the technical author for a number of British Standards aimed at creating industry best practice for the Aquatics industry sector in the UK, and is currently a member of a x 2 UK government All Party Parliamentary Groups; (i) A Fit and Healthy Childhood, (ii) the APPG for Swimming. He is the lead spokesperson for a UK national campaign called Children First aimed at getting a dedicated Minister in government responsible for Children and Young People. Steve is also an elected member of the ukactive Kids Council.
Steve joined Water Babies as Group Managing Director in 2009 and went on to become its Group CEO. As well as being responsible for the overall strategic management and development of the Company, he has been heavily involved in developing and shaping, its vision and the strategic purpose and direction of the Water Babies group of companies which also includes WaterBumps Ltd, Water Babies international Ltd, its Aquatic Centre concepts together with the co-founder of the Company.
Steve is largely responsible for creating the current infrastructure of the business as well as pushing Water Babies to the forefront of the industry sector, so it is now recognised as a ‘thought leader’, in baby and pre-school swimming and early years physical activity in the UK and internationally.
